This morning I cam across an interesting article that got my wheels spinning. I spend a lot of time on various social media platforms and I thought I had a pretty good grasp on what these communities were. And then I read this article…
What is social media?
“Social media” really is more than “social media” and it wasn’t until this morning that I even really put too much thought into it. If you follow my twitter accounts you’ll often see me say “thanks for keeping social media social”. Relationship building is important in any business and just as important when doing business through social media. So the question is, “What is social media?” I thought I know the answer, but really there are so many platforms and it is so young, how can we possibly know at this point?

Awesome post Adam! Whether you're online or not, as long as you're in business, you've GOT to have a social media presence nowadays. It could be the difference between our success and failures. It's definitely powerful and it's something we need to use to boost our business and get a wider range of an audience.

Definitely a great article and yes I do believe you have to go deeper into social media in order to understand how to market on social media. Although its a trend to be on these sites, you still have to know how to market and who you’re going to market to. Like the article said people react a certain way to certain things, and email and text messaging is a prime example. Once you figure out who your target market is and why they react the way they do, then you know what to do when it comes to marketing!
